Digital Recorder
A digital recorder differs from the older tape machines (analog recorders) in that the voice files are stored in the memory of the digital recorder as sound files and can be easily transferred to a computer.
There are basically two kinds of digital recorders, those that have a fixed internal hard drive memory and those with a removable flash drive memory. We are of the opinion that the latter kind is more useful as it allows different people to dictate using a separate flash drive, keeping each providers' dictation separate as well as allowing an office person to take the flash drive memory for processing while the physician continues to dictate using another memory card.
A high-quality digital recorder helps Destiny MT give you accurate, reliable transcription. There are many cheaper recorders now available on the market, but their quality of recording is also not up to the standard we require. Here are a few that we recommend. The prices are as listed by the company. Somewhat cheaper prices are available from various Internet stores. Our recommendation is the Olympus DS-3300. Read a review of various digital recorders.
